See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
Reopened (23.5.19) after a fire. This much-loved pub, a reminder of how many country pubs must once have looked, is the hub of life in a secluded valley whose distinctive cultural traditions include a long history of farmhouse brewing. There is no bar counter - beer is still served by the jug through a sliding serving hatch. Conversation is the main form of entertainment, and the pub's relaxed atmosphere is captivating. A timeless gem to be treated with respect. No food.
